Assistant Principal Foundations

(for Early Career Assistant Principals)

This program strand provides four workshops designed to support the preparation and development of new assistant principals in the critical and core responsibilities of their role, including understanding their accountabilities and span of control, time and priority management, classroom management and critical communication skills, and effective leadership of faculty.

AP Essentials

(for Experienced APs with 3+ years of experience in the role)

This program strand is designed for seasoned APs with at least three years of experience in the role. It will provide the same foundational focus as the AP Foundations Silver Strand with two exceptions: this strand will not include a basic introduction to the role of the AP, and protocols will be designed to provide a deeper and more robust level of discussion on the content to support the development of experienced APs.

Aspiring Principals

(for Assistant Principals with 2+ years of experience in the role)

This two-year program supports assistant principals who seek to assume the responsibilities of the principalship. Experienced assistant principals bring a level of leadership acumen but often lack the full skill set needed to move into a principalship role. Workshops include content related to four strategic functions, including data-driven planning, finance, vision-setting, and talent management. Ideally, districts will refer assistant principals developing for the role of principalship, but assistant principals may also self-refer and participate in the program for self-development and career growth.
